The app:

The app is meant to be a simple recording tool that allows you to create and more importantly, to find the audio you create.  The issue in the past is that an audio file, or voice message would be saved in some obscure file or folder.  You would have to listen to minutes and minutes(or more) of audio to find what you were looking for in the first place.   The app will have a few ways to categorize your audio so it is easier to find.

1.  You can upload a picture of something that reminds you of the audio or of the exact moment you recorded it.

2.  You can add multiple tags so you can find audio with certain subject matter or other descriptive terms to get you to what you want to hear.

3. The date.  It seems so simple but knowing when the audio was recorded or upload makes it easy to find audio from different seasons of your life.  Holidays, big moments, etc.

4. Share audio with your friends and family in the Audio Feed.

5. Simple capture.  You can either record audio directly on the app or upload audio you already have (voicemails are a great place to start)

6.  Don’t forget to add as many details as possible.  This is what makes Life In Audio unique.

7.  Get organized in The Vault.  Create albums that are like folders and add audio that fits.

8.  Profiles for users.

Other app uses:

While we love the intended original use for the Life In Audio app but we know users will get creative.  Here is a list of other ways we could see you using the platform:

  • Capturing special moments from multiple people: Think how cool it would be if everyone at a wedding wished the couple a unique congrats on the app.  We could take all of the audio and create a compilation for the bride and groom to listen to forever.
  • Birdsong and nature sounds: Record and collect birdsong from anywhere!
  • Journalism: Journalists have used audio as a way to record happenings and thoughts in the field for as long as we have had the technology to do so.  They could create albums on topics they are reporting on and stay organized.
  • Interviews in the field: Not unlike the journalist usage you could get short snippets of an athlete after a game or do fun interviews with friends and family at live events.
  • Musicians: You never know when a tune or beat will come to you that could be the next big hit. The app will allow musicians to record and manage anytime, anywhere and easily share with friends for feedback.
  • Students:  To use as a study tool or for practice with a speech.
  • Travel logs: Audio is quick and easy and if there are moments you never want to forget, recording a quick snippet could help you remember a moment for later.
  • Visually impaired persons: Our app could be an entire social media platform for visually impaired individuals to share how they experience the world in a new way.

These are just a few ideas of ways to best use the app!
